Key Personnel

Peter joined Gantrail in 2001, having graduated with an honours degree in Industrial Design. Peter has held the position of Technical Manager at Gantrail for a number of years before taking on the role of Managing Director. Peter drives the strategic direction of the Gantrail brand worldwide.

Carole started her career with Gantrail in 1999. Completing her AAT in 2001, Carole has gone on to become responsible for all financial aspects of the business, working closely with the Managing Director on a day to day basis.

Having joined Gantrail in 1998, Malcolm takes responsibility for the estimating procedures within the business and is heavily involved in all commercial activities. Malcolm previously worked for 10 years within the water treatment industry and brings a wealth of technical and commercial knowledge to the team from estimating through to sales worldwide.

Stephen joined Gantrail in 2018 and has made an immediate impact since his arrival. He brings with him over 12 years’ experience working in material control and lean manufacture which has led to significant reductions in our operational expenditure by refining internal processes and increasing efficiency. Stephen manages the production and logistics departments on a day-to-day basis.

Dieter joined Gantrail in 2007 having spent the previous 24 years in the Crane Rail Industry where he built up a wealth of experience. His knowledge of the product and the many applications where heavy cranes are installed on rails has been invaluable. He has spent many years working with consultants and contractors around the world advising on the best systems for their particular project. With his wide technical and sales experience he manages our European, African and Latin-American activities.

New to the team in 2023 and under the guidance of Commercial Director Malcolm Gray and the wider Sales team, Jonathan brings with him a distinct set of skills to the Sales function, playing a key role in the continuous improvement of our customer experience.

The latest addition to our team, Matthew qualified as a Mechanical Engineer and brings with him a host of skills and experience in leading and mentoring small teams of engineers whilst working at both Dyson and Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE). He is also geared towards product development and validation testing, whilst also supporting inbound technical support requests.

Scott joined the team in 2023 bringing with him a substantial background in product design and R&D, designing new products for global markets and running global design departments. Now as Head of Product Development, Scott is charged with developing the role and driving our NPD ambition forwards.

David arrived at Gantrail in 1996 and has progressively worked his way up through the ranks to the position of Production Manager. During his time here, he has helped to develop and improve our production and quality processes to ensure we deliver to the high standards that our customers expect. On a day-to-day basis, David plans our production and coordinates our dedicated team of production operatives. He also regularly liaises with different departments and suppliers to ensure that everything we do is conducted in a safe and environmentally conscious manner.

Paul joined the company in 1996 and is now one of our longest serving employees. He is responsible for the handling and planning of all orders and works closely with the Production Manager to ensure everything is delivered to our customers on time. Paul is a huge asset to the company due to his wealth of experience in production planning and logistics.

Adrian joined the company in 2014 having completed a degree in Business Management. He initially joined as an assistant to the Production Controller and has gradually developed to take on more responsibilities including purchasing, production, maintenance management and logistics. Adrian is also the company Health and Safety Officer where he is currently undertaking a NEBOSH national general certificate which he should complete in the next year. He coordinates regular Health and Safety meetings with the committee and continuously improves our systems and work procedures.
